Is there any chance you could give me some hints how to do this? I would love to teach this to my after school film club.

Sure! I used the continuous drive function (or burst mode for consumer cameras) to do the shoot. Me and my actress had to move fairly slowly for the camera to capture most of our movements. The higher framerate your camera can capture, the smoother the result. As for the actual animating it's just a series of frames fading out one after another.

My only comment is at the end, where she is hitting his head against the tree, you can obviously tell that that is looped because of the tree branch moving in the top left corner... I don't know if there is a way to edit that so it looks more fluid. Other than that, nice!

Yeah, I had a filesize limit to attend to. The file was originally 7MB big! I had to downsample the image resolution to squeeze the size down to 4MB.
