Very necesary; thanks
We have to remember not to go crazy like we idd to the Japanese, somthing we regret even if weren't yet born. I have a friend at my college who is from India, and he feels that some may not like him becuase of his appearance or nationality (even thou the last time India was in the news, it was becuase they were testing nukes for possible use agianst ancient rival Pakistan, so racist folk would want to support India. But hate isn't logical so they won't see it like that).
I hope this does not cause hatred of cultures. A favorite musician of mine, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, was a Pakistani singer who has preformed with Peter Gabriel. His voice was extraordinary, some called it the greatest of ny man; his 1997 death from a heart attack saddened many. He was for peace, and although he could ahve moved to England or somewhere else with the wealth his fame (big big star in plenty of non-American nations) brought him, but he continued to live in Pakistan, his home guarded by machine gun turrets, as it is dangerous there.
If I listen to some trax from "Night Song" (great album), will people in nearby dorms asume that I'm un-American? An Arab sympathizer? A traitor? Annyoingly, I can't find out because those thoughts, even if unfounded, boher me and thus ruin the relaxation I can get from the beautiful music. We must be careful about where hate goes.
