The Macintosh Computer Hater Says...
It's so simplistic, yet surprising. If that's what the song's really saying, it's actually rather ironic. They throw the word 'freedom' and 'will of the people being mightier than war'... Those countries have their fair share of quelling the most basic of human freedoms that ot frightens me to no end. And how is it that Russia makes a song about another country fighting along-side them? That alone shows faith in your fellow comrades across the fence to which it seems almost fanatical. Why doesn't Canada write a song about being brothers to the U.S.? Do other countries do the same thing? And if they do, has the U.S. done it for anyone? I can't recall, and that, to me, speaks volumes of our egotism...
I think Lewis Black said it: 'You never know how annoying it is to hear us brag about how we're the best country in the world until you're on the outside looking in. That's when you go jeez, that's annoying.' or something like that.
