Reviews for "OOTHQ: Goron City"

Sounds very professional

I believe that if Nintendo remade OoT, this is what the music would need to sound like. I think that the flame and the cymbal crash noises are good, just used for too long. That aside, this is great.

Good job

All the instruments work well together, I like it.

Sadly no ten.

The reason was that the music had no Goron feeling. I can't guarantee this is better than the few remixes of Goron City that I heard. Altough better than the original.

I thought this was a pretty good remake. I'm not giving it 5 stars though, because it didn't give me the feeling of Goron City. I personally feel that this might have been better if it was brass centered, and maybe a little more bass. The strings gave it a light feeling that doesn't have a place in Goron City. As a musical composition, I give you 5 stars, but as a remake of this piece, I can only give you 4 stars. The only thing I would keep in mind when doing remakes from now on is that the melody isn't the only thing that makes the music, the feeling it gives off is important too. Try to take the feeling you got when you first viewed the city, and incorporate that into your work. I look forward to your other submissions.

Hoeloe responds:

I appreciate your comments. It seems the feeling we got in Goron City differs somewhat. I got more a light, earthy kind of feeling, rather than a big and heavy one, if you catch my drift. I felt that low strings best suited that (hence the cello). The original composition featured the melody played on the strings, too, and I felt that fitted nicely, so I didn't change that element. Thank you for your comments.

nice job

if only i liked goron village more cuz then this would be fantastic
