Reviews for "Identity (2006)"

good but not great.

Ok first of all nice acheivment, I thought the stylization was amazing good job. now a couple of nitt picking things, first of all this is in no way an experimental style people have been doing black and white for a hundred years, yes it was new but not experimental. Next WHY DID HE CUT HIMSELF IN THE BEGGINING!!!! It makes no sense, the entire time he is out of the house no one can hurt him. Like the airplane not hitting him when in fact it would and he would die. He should have cut himself in the end I am sorry it looked super cool but it makes no sense story wise. Bye man good job, hate to be picky.

Peda responds:

thanks for the review. I personally havent animated using the general style- i refined it and made this cartoon to experiment with it. It does lend itself to a few things, b+w being a classic example, but also see the red only shoing- that lends itself to a few examples of film noir. The humor; i had fun experimenting with what i found amusing in a dark aspect.
And i feel most people would prefer to nip themself shaving than see a dead dog :) thanks

Too clever for the majority of this audience

I just have to say to the people who have seen this as unneccessarily violent, that it isn't. The ''terrorist-friendly'' plane crash highlights the authors's points (or what in my opinion what i feel they are) perfectly.
Its about an average day in the life of an average person (with a bit of surreality) and how an average day can get worse and worse, but how this strengthens our resolve, or destroys our passion for life, depending on whether you think the glass is half full or half empty.
Cuts himself, sees dead skunk(whatever it is) and is sick as it is so horrible, washes his face and is sick as a result of the creatures in sink, isn't sick when he has to put his hands in a toilet to get his wallet, isn't sick when he sees a load of dead bodies in a plane crash. so through the day his spirit has been quashed and as a result couldn't care less about a catastrophe, even though earlier a skunk upset him (in perspective you wouldn't think you'd be sick over a skunk, but you would over a plane crash)
brilliantly done.

damn

poor guy could'nt even get hit by the plane

"Where is the passion when you need it the most.."

I guess "Murphy's Law" has nothing on this guy!! I hope he has Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance!! Hey wait... didn't he play the newest spokesperson for that slew of herpes commercials? What else can I say... Poor Guy!! Nice work by the Author!! Can't wait for the next batch 'o' goodies!!

Got boring

didnt watch it after he threw up seeing the dead puppy or bunny on the street. Pretty much same thing. Stuff dying or bad things happening.

Needs more depth. But the style and execution was well done. I would have put some back ground music in it. At least at the beginning.

The minimalistic style worked.
