Very good. Most people can't pull this off.
Yes the sprites need more work. The Mario All-Stars will look much better. The Fighting was superb, except for the paint attacks. Other than that, Fantastic. Try getting voice recordings in there instead of plain text.

You improved quite a bit. My only real beef is the old nes graphics. You should do a revamp on your third one. Or if that isn't your final one, at least do it for that. Mario World graphics, Allstars, or even better, Mario & Luigi Superstar saga and Partners in Time sprites. I guess Super Mario Bros. Z spoiled me.
My third part will be in All star graphics and will have better special effects like power up or power-ball than my previous part
