Flawed Arguments

Being born in a poor country doesn't give you a right to immigrate illegally to mine. Its easy to sympathize with people because they come from poor nations, but there are LEGAL ways of coming to our nation, especially from our neighbors from the south. The reason Mexicans (not the ethnicity, the nationals) are especially targeted is because many make no attempt to become nationalized, yet use our infastructure and recieve benefits such as welfare, while contributing nothing to either. While I don't agree with the resolution proposed in congress, and I'm strongly in favor of the guest worker program, I have to say your flash presents flawed and poor arguments with heavy rhetoric with intent to misinform.

JujubeLock responds:

If you go to the same source I used to determine the % of "illegal immigrants," you would also discover there are a significant number of "legal immigrants" from the same countries, so arguing there is no attempt to being nationalized is a generalization. Also, there are illegal immigrants protesting (i.e. the riots in CA) because they want to be legalized. However, there are heavy restraints on becoming legal citizens and there is often a total lack of information available to immigrants to transition legally.

If I am your run-of-the-mill Mexican citizen living in a slum, do I really know how to enter the country legally, or do I just see this fence were supposedly everything over it is better?

Also, generally minimum wage workers don't contribute to either anyways because they have too low an income to pay income taxes and they don't own any property that would warrant a property tax, so if they became legal and earned minimum wage, then it wouldn't matter anyways tax-wise. If they had either a reasonable income or property, they would probably be striving to achieve citizenship or they wouldn't be discrete anymore and they wouldn't want to lose their citizenship.

So I would have to say your review has "flawed and poor arguments with a heavy rhetoric with intent to misinform."

Ok movie but..

Sorry but if these people come into this country illegaly then they should be sent back, not given an education and health care (exept in an emergency) without having to pay for it. but I do aggree that serious reform is needed to the laws as they stand. A few freinds of mine came from Mexico legaly, worked in some of the same jobs, and eventualy became citizens and they do NOT support the illegals so if they don't why should I?

JujubeLock responds:

Once significant reform is made, then there will be no reason why someone would enter illegally as opposed to legally. Also, despite taxpayers paying for these "costs," you must also consider the aggregate benefits illegal immigrants give to the economy make up for that, or else politicians wouldn't continue allowing a system where they could continue doing this.

i don't like clock, lock, glock thingies

but you have a point, so you get a fiver
