Just a suggestion.
There's a little spinny disc thingy. Turn it in the direction of the arrow. Now don't be alarmed! It will come off and a small ball will come out. There will be little plastic wheels inside the hole. Pick the gunk off of them and put the ball and wheel back on. You'll never have this problem again.

Mine has a red laser at the bottom... I see no ball... perhaps staring directly into it will help? ;D
