Enjoyable but needs some polish.
I liked the overall look of the game. Cool looking cars. I Liked the burned rubber marks left when you take a corner at full speed. I thought that the feature of parking the car on the difficulty setting you want was cool!
The game reminds me of some very VERY early coin operated games. The lack of physics gave it a nostalgic arcade feel, which is kindof cool.
Problems (in my opinion):
On the load screen: The estimated load time doesn't display correctly. Ex: Shows :865 .. maybe try this format? <M:SS>
The "PREV" and "NEXT" buttons should probably swap positions.
During Gameplay: The Gear position indicator stays at 1/4 the entire time.
The controls for driving the car were ok, but became awkward when it came time to use a special effect.
The alternate menu is a great idea but it didn't work. It wouldn't allow me to select the difficulty level and when I clicked "tutorial", it went right into a race.
I didn't care for the blur effect on the car when it accelerated to a certain speed.
No engine sounds was a disappointment after seeing the cool looking Indy car on the load screen.
Lack of gun sounds, rocket sounds, or bouncing 55 gallon drum sounds had me making the sound effects myself in full Foley style.
Overall .. great effort. Go for Flash Racer II
