Reviews for "Set For Battle"

personally insulted!

I am personally insulted to see such low scores for these fine pieces.

I tell you Dan... you have many jealous rivals, I will do my best to counter them, because none of these songs here deserve less then a four!

This one sounded like a person was indeed getting ready to fight, but it was a fight they knew they were going to lose, it had some sadness to it.

Keep up the composing, know that even jealousy is a form of respect.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

You speak with a plethora of reason. I know they don't deserve all 5's... theres always room for critique. But I hate coming back here and seeing what was a 4.50... turn into a 3.10 in only a half hour. This piece was an experiment with the timpani lol... a small software company has asked me to write up a new one for them. So I shall :).

ehhh

i noticed that in your music it sometimes takes a little too long to develope and thats the only thing wrong with this piece. i liked the percussion too. all of it. also around 1:35 it sounded a litle wierd for some reason. kinda like something was supposed to come in but didnt. cant exactly tell.

I got it!

Contract music for games. Try that. Send a demo tape to Blizzard or someplace that makes MMORPGs.

Seriously, I don't how I missed this one on my many visits here. This one is great. It does sound like somebody is in a hopeless battle only to lose by attrition. They keep on trying the same tactic and trying and that same tactic gets beaten all the time. The futility of it. That is what this song feels like to me.

You sir have managed a permanent slot in my car CD player. All your compositions are in there. And what's great is most new people who ride with me ask me what kinda of music that is. When I tell them it's from a person that plays piano only by ear and has no formal training - they can barely believe it! Some even want to know where to hear more. Of course I have little business size cards printed up and ready to give out with your newgrounds web presence address. :) :)

You keep composing and I'll keep referring! Chao!

MilkMan-Dan responds:

haha I couldn't help but respond to this amazing lil review. You actually have bussiness cards?... lol thats amazing. Thankyou for promoting my work and sharing it with your friends. I too listen to my music in my Smart car (yah... i got a smart car... so what)... everywhere I go. People ask who wrote it and I tell them it was some famous orchestra maestro... and they believe me... haha so I'm happy with that. You keep that going and I'll have to send you an autographed CD (look at you boosting my ego). THanks mate.

Wow u f-kin ROCK DUDE!!!!!

I love this song and i might use it in a powerpoint and flash (i get paid for both lol) and i hope u make more wonderful piano music!!

This is nothing short of brilliant

I'm sure you've played video games for hours at a time before and got sick of the music after a while. However, this would not be true with this type of music. As a serious gamer I would love to play a game with this song in it. It can be looped easily and keeps things interesting yet to a professional common beat keeping it in sync. My husband plans to be a game developer shortly and hopefully by that time you're still around because we both find your music to be very enjoible and useful.
