Reviews for "Snowman Attack"

boooooooring

no real point

no its not

no its not fun the turrents would not shoot when the enimes were in range and you should make it if the eniems land on a mine it blows up

Oh wow!!!!!!!

It's completely like Defend Your Castle, but without the fun.

Good, but seriously lacking.

Armor Games is the underdog of Flash games; While other creators, such as Games of Gondor, constantly generate hype, Armor Games produces Flash's that are, in my opinion, much more complete and fun. While it looks better than Armor Game's previous Defense title, The Portal Guardian, Snowman Attack suffers from some unexpected issues.

Overall, Snowman Attack is a nice-looking Flash. The visuals are solid and even allow the user to choose a crosshair. The gameplay itself poses some serious issues, though.

The biggest problem with Snowman Attack is that the game simply can't keep up with its own pace. The upgrade system is a great addition to any Defense game, but the implementation is questionable in this Flash. First, the "Upgrade Weapon" option doesn't produce any results. Even after several upgrades, a "kid" still requires two shots to die. The "Increase Fire Rate" option is just as lacking. The change becomes noticeable only after a few upgrades, but, by then, the waves have already become too intense. Therefore, most players will find that, while the waves are more populated, the weaponry remains sluggish and weak.

The game discourages upgrades by overcharging for Health refills; Paying $100 for just 15 points of health is just too high. So, players will be injured heavily in the later waves, but can't do much more than refill a portion of the life meter and continue until he or she is overwhelmed. Snowman Attack is more of a survival challenge than a game that players can progress in.

I'm still a huge fan of Armor Games, but I definitely felt that Snowman Attack needed more play-testing. For Snowman Attack to be a classic, some serious adjustments have to be made.

Armor Games is Games of Gondor.

A very very bad defense game

I would actually go so far as to say this is one of the worse defense games out there. For one thing, not all the enemies head directly at ground zero of your base, so there's issues with aiming. Secondly, I don't know what the hell you do with the upgrades to power, but you sure as hell don't do it like you should. If I've bought one power up in the damage of the gun, my guns power should now be (Base damage X 2). If it takes 2 shots with (Base damage X 2) to kill a kid, then Kid's Hit Points should either equal (Base damage X 3) or (Base damage X 4). Thus, if I gain 2 more skills in Damage, my damage should now be (Base damage X 4). So if I shoot a Kid, he should die. Guess what? Didn't work. MAJOR flaw in the design of the game, no matter how you rationalize it to yourself.

Another thing, something that has always bothered me with Defense games, is that some games decide that they'll make enemies worth small amounts of money, and jack up the prices on everything. Guess how awesome that is? Not at all. It does, in fact, suck when you're scrambling for cash, so you spend $100 on a heal, and how many hit points do you get back? 15. 15 hit points for $100 dollars. That's insane. I thought it was 25 at first, and that was pushing it, but I could see you justifying $100 for 25 hit points, but 15? That's absurd, and you should be well aware of that.

There are so many things wrong with this game, it deserves none of the praise that others may give it. So, sit comfortably on your false throne of praise and commendations. I don't know how you got those awards, but for this game, you definitely did not earn them.

Also, I gave you a 0 for sound because I didn't listen to it, not 'cause I'm a dick. I gave you a 3/10 overall 'cause I'm a dick.
