Reviews for "Sonic'sQuestForPower3End"

Dude...

Yeah, Remember me? Im the guy who tried to defend his brother at your place LGD.>_>

Anyways...No use ripping the bandage off now if you know what I mean.

This thing was below decent. Your sounds were all right but you could barely hear them over the constant screaming, War crys and random-ness that was on the screen. Your spriteing is decent but still at par seeing as how you dont show movements between attacks other then useing flashes as your movement deductor.

The voices coulda been slightly better, Considering this is a gigantic a$$ wooping fest you coulda atleast had more serious voices then the calm ones. And Tails......Dude.....In the words of Brian Griffin"No...No".

The music was not even needed considering that you could barely hear the music from the almost insanely loud sound of the punches and explosions. Maybe if you changed the sounds a little more often and gave this less of a DBZ touch, This thing coulda been one serious hit.

Good luck next time dude. Heed everyones bad reviews of SQFP and accel from it man.

LgdVegetto responds:

ooohhhhh..don't you worry..i've developed quite a unique formula for my next series...SQFP was just an experiment....you just wait...

ARGH HOW'D THIS MAKE IT TO DAILY FEATURE?!

Seriously what the hell is this? The story sure was really damn bad, the effects were ok but nothing special and the fight scenes were so sad that it was FUNNY. There's barley no CHARECTER animation here, you mostly just switch the sprites around a little and change the color of the pretty boring looking effects. Seriously, what's wrong with NG when this bullcrap gets 1st daily. Gaddamn.

Meaningless and excessive violence.. yay..

I hope that was a parody, if not then you are devoid of any form of imagination and creativity. It was comparable to being forced to watch the same damn episode of dragonball z over and over. The voices were really stupid and didn't really sound serious, or humourous enough to be either. It was basically the same 'omghiteachotherwithbigswordsngunz' mentality that seems to be popular if somewhat boring and repetitive, as you can probably notice I'm not a fan of that. If you're going to use excessive violence at least do it in a witty fashion.. not just some 'bang bang, kill kill' crap with the odd battlecry, taunt, intimidation or shout thrown in. Storyline was also bland and shallow.

That was just bad.

Graphics not self drawn.
Style weird kind of cutting.
Sound, music not hard enough while sounds like: "Ya, hii, yaaaaa, hiiiii" were not that amusing.
Violence over the top like u drank to much coffee.
But that u drank enough coffee did get u point on humor.
But overall pretty crappy :D

Meh, bleh, and ugh

The last time I reviewed this series, I was young, and new to the world of spriting, and animation. I'm much smarter now.

Graphics: Mixing 16-bit, 32-bit, good fan, and bad fan? Sigma looked like crap (and most of his animations were terrible). You completely ignored the 32-bit Sonic sprites, and you used a plethora of lame fan sprites.

Style: Sonic and DBZ? ZOMGZ SO ORIGNAL! And Sonic with a dark side? What kind of artistic liscense abuser ARE you? Not to mention "multiple forms of super".

Sound: You used some ok sound effects, but SERIOUSLY overused some, to the point where you had ONE "hit" effect playing like, 60 times a minute.
VA's stank like a wet fart. Sonic had a terrible australian voice lacking his enthusiasm, Shadow sounded horse, Tails sounded like he was screaming, Knuckles was actually not bad, better than the 4 kids guy at least, X sounded scarily bad (as in, he sounded the OPPOSITE of his normal VA), Zero was like X, Sigma didn't sound anything like himself (although the actual voice was good.

Violence: You have someones arms moving with the actual person just floating there yelling. Almost nothing there.

Interactivity: SCENE SELECT, and different music. Nice job.

Humor: Nothing funny.

Overall: Meh, bleh, and ugh. You took so many liberties with the story, had no actual originality, had terrible use of sprites, bad grammar, no humor, and violence that consisted of people standing there with their swords flying around. Oh, and you shattered my ears with pointlessly loud SFX.

LgdVegetto responds:

Now bare in mind that i was still partially new to flash around this time, but there are some things you're still incorrect about.

DBZ style? Is that so? When was the last time you saw Goku use a sword and shotgun? That style was influenced by Devil May Cry, not DBZ.

Sonic does have a dark side. Look at Sonic X when he does show his appearance as Dark Super Sonic.

There are multiple forms of super. Have you ever played Sonic 3 & Knuckles? There was Super Sonic, then a level beyond that. Hyper Sonic.

The voice acting performance is clearly your opinion and not fact. Let's see you do a better job. Some people like the voices, some don't. Not everyone can be satisfied.

The originality, violence and humor comments are also debatable. People actually liked the humor in the series. People actually liked the violence, not because of the flashing lights, but the meaning and feel behind the massacre itself. People actually found the originality in it.

In the SQFP series, the battle scenes were an abstract expression. If you truly paid attention, you'd understand what i'm getting at here.

But don't worry, it's not that i ignore the reviews and criticism. I do understand what you're saying, and as a result i have already tried tweaking as many flaws as possible.

Take a look at this test i'm working on.

http://androcity.com/~sqfp/mo vies/SonicUCTest.swf

bare in mind the test has nothing to do with the plot, as it's only dealing with the combat system itself. It starts off very basic, but it gradually develops into a more fleshed out style, inspired by Sonic Battle, Streets of Rage and Devil May Cry 3. And no, none of that is DBZ style. If you think that's DBZ, you're terribly mistaken.
