While we are all certainly entitled to our opinions, it's clear from your review that you've forgotten something very important: the people who make animations for Newgrounds are doing it strictly for fun. They spends months, even years making these animations in their spare time with no compensation or motivation other than the a sense of accomplishment...as fleeting as that can be. Of COURSE the "Sonic's Quest for Power" series isn't "professional." Of COURSE it could be "better." But so what? I've seen a lot of animations on Newgrounds: some that were terrible, some that were average, and some that were great enough for me to want to watch over and over again. This is a movie I enjoy watching over and over again.
You mentioned that you had a problem with the writing/storyline. I wish you'd given some examples of this "cheese" you spoke, but I think I can guess. I know Dr. Light convinced Shadow to enter the capsule "for Maria"...but we know that Shadow's primary motivation since his creation in "Sonic Adventure 2" was his feelings for Maria. And when Sonic freed Tails from Sigma's possession...of course there's going to be SOME "cheese". Tails is an 8-year-old, and Sonic is his best friend. Whether or not you like the storyline of the series...it doesn't necessarily have much to do with the quality of the animation or even of the story itself. I personally don't like musicals...if you REALLY want to talk about "cheese"...but that doesn't mean I haven't found some that were well produced.
You also mentioned your dislike for the voice acting. Apparently, you've also failed to keep in mind that the voice actors were friends of the artists, if not the artists themselves. None of the actors do this professional, nor are they compensated. They were doing it for FUN. Besides, I've HEARD terrible voice acting on other Newgrounds projects (a certain adult-themed parody of "Paper Mario" comes to mind), and the voice acting in THIS series could be a LOT worse. And so WHAT is Dark Dragoon has a German accent? Who says he's NOT German? He's determined to get his revenge on Sonic after being destroyed as Magma Dragoon...and what better way to represent how tough he's SUPPOSED to be than by making him sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger (even though Arnold is actually a native Austrian)?
Anyway, the point is that your expectations are unreasonable for a website where people create animations simply because they enjoy doing it. Very few people animations that you see on Newgrounds are going to appear "professional", at least by your standards. If you so desire to see work that looks professional, I suggest you look for a site where submissions come from people who DO create Flash animations for a living, or are at least seeking to do so. Either way, my friend...you're on the wrong website.
