Reviews for "Behind the Magic"

Yet more greatness from the Clocks.

Hahah! I imagine that's what Strawberry would really 'B' like, too.
Why does that work so well...

Graphics- 10
Smoothly animated, with something of a different style as compared to what I normally see in "Clock" flash animations. I couldn't help but think to myself 'Oh my God, they have hands! And feet! AND MOUTHS!' About the mouths- I should note that the lip-synching was perfectly done. All in all, it was great. A 10/10.
Style- 10
You know, I think this was the first submission I'd seen from this author. That said, I have to comment that the style was immediately noticable as that of someone with talent, experience, and a good idea of how to use Flash. Another 10/10.
Sound- 10
What can I say? I thought it would be another one of the Clock Crew 'Speakonia-fest' voice style animations, but lo and behold, they had REAL VOICES! To add to that, the voices were actually ones I could imagine the characters having, adding to the effect of having real voices in the first place. Yet again, 10/10.
Violence- 0.
Who says a Flash needs violence to be good?
Interactivity- 0
It was a movie. I didn't expect interactivity, and thus, wasn't disappointed.
Humor- 10
While I don't usually use 'netspeak' terms in reviews, I'll allow myself a slip in this case. I can describe this in two ways. 'Hilarious', or the ever-present 'LOLLMAOROFLLMFAO'.

OVERALL- "Behind the Magic" is a fantastic flash, and in my opinion, accurately answers the question of what Strawberry_Clock thinks of the following 'B' spawned- AKA the 'Clock Crew'. A perfect score- 10/10.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Yeah, this is what happens when i REALLY want to make something happen. "Behind the Magic" was one of my shortest, yet most extensive projects up to date. It was storyboarded and modified countless times, the lines were practiced a couple of times before they were recorded and on top of that i bothered to master the sound for once, so that even the "quality" wouldn't be something that people could whinge about.

As for the humor factor... Let's just say that the truth can get people more if you add a little spin to it. Obviously, i said the truth in a silly way so it made you laugh...

I've never really been fond of the "text-to-speech" voices employed in Clock Crew cartoons, but i've kind of grown to like it, since it's kind of like a "watermark" for every Clock Crew film. Nevertheless it's allright, as long as major effort has been put into making a good animation on top of that.

I was seriously THINKING about employing other voice actors, but i was too compelled with doing this my own way that i felt that if i made someone else do it... It wouldn't have turned out the same way. So i acted for both Strawberry and Orange, the only difference being that Orange had a slightly higher voice pitch (not computer altered, by the way).

Thanks for the extensive review and i hope to hear more from you soon!

Long live the Clock Crew!

-Let it B-

Hehehehe

Good job with another good flash movie!

i think strawberry clock needs years of therapy. lol.

Great job.

P.S your one of my favorite flash artists!

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Wow... i have favourites?

LoL... Thanks for watching!

That was...wonderful

That was the greatest thing i've seen in a while. Man....The speed was just great.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Thanks!

Very good.

^^Good Points^^
I always like creative and original things, and this was very much of both. The voice overs were good choices and were both very clear. The script was very creative and funny. I got a good laugh out of this.

^^Needs Improving^^
Some parts of this moved too slowly to hear or read what was being said.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

I like my movies slick and fast. I added subtitles for the sole purpose of making understanding just a tad easier.

The voice overs were actually mine. All sound i use are usually made by me (core sounds anyway, like introductory instrumentals, sound effects, music, etc). SOMETIMES i use other people's audio (Most famous example up to date: Denvish's "Going Down to Newgrounds" song).

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

uhm.

I've heard about the clock crew but haven't really seen any of their stuff... So here I go... (Is watching)

Maybe I watched the wrong episode here... O_O... I don't know these mechanical fruits so I didn't really get much of the jokes. The strawberry swore a whole lot and orange reminded me of... of Robin somehow... don't ask.

It wasn't that bad. But I guess this whole thing isn't for goody-goody girls like me... though still a part of me likes it...

I have such odd interests... O_O

stoners-lunchbox responds:

LoL... perhaps it's the other way around... Maybe it's you liking some parts of this movie and some not...

Obviously nobody's expected to know everything about the ClockCrew, so that's not a point to your disadvantage. Thanks for your feedback and i hope to hear more from you soon!
