You can use motion tweens not in straight lines, its something called guiding it. You can create a guide path and the object will move along the path, but i suppose thats too much for you. Newbs should not make tutorials.
I thought of adding guides but I didn't want to make a rough start on te newbies.. That may be included in the next tutorial..

Not helpful even for beginners. Motion tweens isn't only for straight lines, you can rotate it, and add motion guides so it moves in whatever path you want. And for shape tweens you didn't even mention shape hints.
