Reviews for "Serious Santa"

Good Game

I have seen lots of original flash santa games, and this one is not exactly the best, but one of them.

Sweeeet.

I had alot of fun playing it, it was very addicting, and had a funny concept. Good job, and keep up the good work!

Great Game

Here's some help for those of you who are having trouble with the secrets:
First Level- Go all the way to the left and get the green gun. Blow up the left side of the house until you get the alien hominid secret (don't worry, you cant blow up the secret)
Second Level- Hurry up and out of the trees and go to the right to the gingerbread man. Blow him up. At the center of him will be the P-bot secret (grab it quick!)
Third Level- Right where you get the very first rockets in the level is where you need to be. shoot down until you dig through the level. Run to the right until you see picos picture in the ceiling. Blow it up and get it.
Fourth Level- I didn't find any secrets on this level, but I did find that the only way to kill the boss is to get him to blow a hole to the bottom of the level and he jumps in the water and dies.
P-bot has good health and a good up jump, but isnt good at jumping sideways. Pico has a quick shot and below average health. He's the best char for the boss level. Alien Hominid sucks (just like the real game!) and I didn't find the Goldfish char. Enjoy!

PsychoGoldfish responds:

I'll give you a small hint

the last character is at the end of one of the levels, and you need someone who can jump high to get it

bastard goblins!

i loved this game. it was hard in places, but once you know what you're doing, then all is well. santa gets stuck in places sometimes - like the ceiling above the big blue monster thing, but no faults apart from that. very addictive!!!!!!!!

WHOA! Worship the code!

Okay, I'll bite! How the HELL did you get the collision detection to work so well on DESTRUCTIBLE scenery? Limits on collision detection has put me off doing games in flash but this shows it can be done! I've only just upgraded to Flash 8 from the first MX so any pointers to what actionscript features to use would be much appreciated. Otherwise I will have to hunt you down and eat your brains to gain your knowledge!

PsychoGoldfish responds:

without giving away ALL my tricks I will tell you it's a combination of masking tricks and shapeflag hitTests

I started the engine in MX04 and it worked fine, so it's been possible to do this stuff for a while ;)
