What can I say? Lots of unnecessary swearing and edginess, odd scripts, typos gallore... I kinda love it all! It was the starting point for a long series, and it still has that old school charm of early Flash animations (though I swear there were Sonic RPG games back then, but maybe they're not affiliated with these series). I can't wait to see how the rest of the series improves from this point onwards!
As part of the Sonic RPG Marathon I did, I went from the series from its humble beginnings to its climactic finale. Lets start this....
A fan's review of Sonic RPG Episode 1:
Episode 1 has not aged well, and I'll be saying that for 1-4. Episodes 1-4 should be looked as a way to look back to see the series' growth as a whole. Episode 1 has quite a bit of typos, the swearing was quite odd, and the art has not aged well. Part 1 basically sets up the plot of the game fairly decent, I would say.
The later episodes really improved the series but I should still be thankful for the one that started it.
