Reviews for "WADTD:The Movie-Part2"

Wow.

This is the most amazing flash I have ever seen. You may not get into my #1 favorite (sorry), but you deserve a 1 trillion rating out of five. At the very end I felt satisfied, as though I went through a whole legacy, a whole battle. The storyline was impeccable, and the animation was far from mediocre. This was a masterpiece in itself. I had a sense of finishing at the very end, and it was very well played out. The music keyed in correctly, and sounded fluid with the animation. You should do this for a living!
At the beginning, it wasn't like other flashes when I get bored with the long introduction. I even was happy to wait for that medium-long load! I am very, very impatient, so that is saying a lot. This was greatly played out, I loved how you started with the hell scene. It is as though a proffesional story advisor looked over the story, while the best professional fight choreographer played out the scenes. The script sounded like a full-fledged proffesional, realistic script. The use of each word in itself had a meaning, and the way the voice actors keyed it out was great. When the fight scenes were in, I felt like I was watching a mix of a Dragon Ball Z movie battle and a Sonic Animation battle. The charactor models were very good, and the animation was very fluid. I don't think anyone could draw better with a mouse, or draw pad, or whatever you used. The hair and faces and bodies looked as though they were greatly inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog bodies. The battle scenes looked as though you watched a hundred episodes of DragonBall Z and took the best of the best scenes and acted them out. Every single movement had it's own realistic sound, complimented with the (good pick) Dragon Ball Z: Budokai sound effects. The energy blasts were well animated as well as the body movements. It is as though a real hedgehog was standing in front of me (two-dimensional of course). The hair, for some reason, I really liked, as the unique hair for each character showed a bit of their personality. The names for the characters and attacks were very original, and the plot was the best storyline since Star Wars. I thoughrouly enjoyed this flash animation, and I am sure it will get front page.
Also, I would like to add my appreciation for your choice of music. In every other animation, I would yell out W00t! This has Linkin Park in it!! Well, I respect this too much to say that. The music fit perfectly to each situation, and was put at the exact right volume. You are worthy of being the top author favorite of Tom Fulp. Overall, this was a brilliant flash, and I hope too see more from you (but not a 1 1/2 year one :D) soon, and now I feel greatly satisfied with this. My hands are down to you, and I bow before you as one of the greatest flash authors of all time. Kudos, brilliant job!

Thank you. Thank you for the 10, but more importantly thank you for the mature and well thought out review! Your kind are few 'round these parts.

About your "you should do this for a living" comment, heh, well I actually AM trying to break into the Pro Animation field. Currently I'm takeing Classical Animation at the Vancouver Film School.

Also, for you to say that it appeared that a pro looked over my story and coreography, I feel honored. Thank you, you've made me feel much more confident about my skills today.

The movie and my entire series IS based on DBZ and Sonic. If interested, you can see more (in drawings) at http://tony64.deviantart.com

once again, thanks for the 10 and thanks for making NG a better place!

Excellent! I was truely impressed!

Wow, amazing job on both of them. I was seriously left totally satisfied with both of them, but also wanting more of the same high quality. They were both fantastic, and i decided not to review both of them because the visuals, general style, and sound effects. So i am sort of reviewing both at once. I can use one word to summarize both of them at once though, and that is "Superb". There was nothing that id ask to be improved, to make the movie successful, because it was awesome in every aspect in my opinion, sure some could use a bit of work but for the most part all was great. This even had elements that you dont usually see in many flash movies, those i will mention later. Here is my review.

The graphics were definitely more than sufficient to be successful throughout both movies. The drawings were pretty good by themselves, they had a sonic style to them, yet with human like physical traits, and they had a cool mix of the two. The detail in them was pretty good too, again it made them look good in two ways. The colours were pretty good for the characters and for some backgrounds. The backgrounds did their job for the most part, but some of them lacked a whole professional look to them, for example when Tony's rival was describing where Tony's house was on the hill, they looked too simplistic there. The animation was also awesome in terms of being able to tell which movements were being done, but on occasion the animation lacked a bit of complexity, i mean sometimes the movements seemed to be simple or repeated tweens, for example when Tony was rolling to evade an attack. The style was basically perfect in my opinion, and certainly good enough for a 10. The animating style was pretty cool, again with the two different looks to the characters, sonic/human. The idea and the story that went along with it was just awesome. The story is actually one of this movies strongest elements, actually, and this is one of the things that many flash dont bother to have. But this is an example of how a well thought out story can be very useful in a great flash. The presentation was awesome too, not only because of the crazy good length, of 17 and 16 minutes respectively. I loved how there were many points in this where you thought the battle was over, but then they go through another powerup. While sometimes they got a bit repitive it constantly kept the story changing for the best. The sound was awesome too, effort is the key factor for this aspect in these movies cases. The voice acting was pretty good, though i felt sometimes the expressions were a bit off in terms of what the characters emotion should have been, like when someone was angry they said a witty comment instead of something else. Great sound effects throughout, they really added a lot to the final product.

Overall these movies had their moments, and while it did have some flaws those were easy to overlook when you sit back and just enjoy all the action and the story. I was truely impressed with each individual movie and both of them as one, and the length was incredible, 31 minutes total playing time shows alot of effort, whether you did it by yourself or with a small group of other people. Way to go! This is my first 10 since Dec 06!
~Standing Ovation! 5/5

Tony64 responds:

Chris, my man, first off I'd like to say thank you! Not for the 10, but for the mature and well thought out review. (the 10 was just a bonus). People like you are why I make these movies! You've taken the time to look at every element of the flash, and for that I feel satisfied that my work was not in vein.

Thanks for the 10 and thanks for making NG a better place!

Great Job

Its great to see someone put so much time and effort into their animation. This was really good!! It kinda felt like i was watching a TV show but without commercials. You did an excellent job and you should be glad to know that your success with this is well earned.
