Reviews for "October Massacre"

Nice !

i like this one alot and the only problem i had with it was that the opening was a little slow for my tastes besides that great song !

merlin responds:

Yeah, it's sort of a build up that leads to another build up. I'm sorry if it seemed a little slow. But thanks for the 10 score, that's really awesome! Be sure to tell your friends!

merlin

Interesting, but not my style.

The good:
It is a pretty decent sounding track
The bad:
The horn sounds out of place and it doesn't exactly sound like a horn.

Keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your songs.

merlin responds:

I'll definitely keep composing, that's not a question at all. As for the horn... I'm really thinking on changing it, hopefully before the weekend is over. I'll let you know if I do! Thanks for the time for a review.

merlin

Good as Always

It sounds so familiar, yet so different. It sounds like it would fit into an rpg or an opening to an adventure movie/television series. Keep up the good work :-).

merlin responds:

Thanks for the review! Tell a friend about my song! A friend that you think would enjoy it.

Sorry to upset your streak of 10s

I do like this song, I especially like the way you experiment and create really eclectic songs. Your variety in instrumentaion is also cool, especially how you manage to still have them all mesh well. It also loops amazingly well, not sure if that was intentional or not. The saxaphone seems a little piercing and kind of stops the song's momentum. Also, a more active bass line might've been good. I really like it overall, it'll probably end up on my ipod eventually. I enjoy your music.

merlin responds:

I'm not at all upset to have the streak of 10's broken. I'm starting to rethink a few parts of this song, and after reading all of the reviews so far, I'm thinking it's a consensus that the saxaphone isn't working too well... Hopefully I can get that changed here pretty soon, unfortunately I'm entirely busy today and most of tomorrow, but I'll try to make time for it.

I'll send you a PM if and when I change it!

Hey.

That was unbelievably catchy.
I kind of wish there wasn't so many sounds that sounded like a midi file,
but other than that, I really liked the beat of it.
I'll probably download it after a couple more listens.
Good job, keep it up.

merlin responds:

Thanks! I guess the midi sounds were me keeping in touch with where I started... Maybe I'll re-work some parts here while I still have some steam.

I'm glad you liked how catchy it was. This is one of the only songs I've made that I didn't get super tired of hearing when I was working on it... Only moderately tired of hearing it...
