Nice

nice! good movie nice quality nice sounds but theres just one thing... my little brother 10 yrs old had been really enspired by your movie and he would like to do a tornumant like yours, he wont completly copy off you but it may be a simualr story line so if its ok with you please reply and make my lil' bro happy!

MrWeirdGuy responds:

Sure he can. I don't hold any legal rights to the idea, just the series and story. So your brother can make his movie however he wants, just as long as he doesn't blatantly rip off my movies.

PLZ

PLZ make more so that u finish the tournament it is a GREAT IDEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i want to see how the tournament closes I HOPE ITS pharoah man bec he kicks ass

MrWeirdGuy responds:

Don't worry, I plan on releasing episode 2 on Saturday, if I can get enough self-motivation to work on the second battle.
Also, the winner of the tournament will not be revealed until the series gets that far. I guess you'll just have to wait until then to find out!

awesome!

haha, dude I saw this by accident. ^^

Cool, that I am mention in the credits, thx a lot there! Didn't expect that! ^^

Nice Spritemovie here man, really enjoyed it. Nice and actionpacked. Backgrounds could be a lillte more different, hope you chance that in future episodes. The animation was really nice for a spritemovie.

Keep up the good work dude!

5/5

Very clever...

This was one very cleverly done flash, and none to short! If anything it was too long, what with the large gaps of blankness and such.

The graphics were, very cool indeed. Solid, and believable. By that I mean you can say "that looks like it could've been in a game".
My only gripes are these: the tweens are visible, and some sprites are overly used. But, that's not a bad thing, neciscarily.
The backgrounds were pretty nice, up until the point at which one was ripped away like paper. That looked hoaky. You should spend a bit of time to edit some of the scenery to make it collapse or sommat.
Still, they weren't bad at all.

Style....hm...I think this was a little slower than it should've been. Some of the scenes needed to be cut short, and some were totally boring. An example being the video footage of lost battles, in which nothing exciting happened.
Though, I do like the clever matchup between Metalman and Magnetman. That worked very well. And the overall effort is shown, that's awesome.

Sound, like you say, cuts short at times, though it still works nicely when it plays.

Violence, though no gore, was very entertaining.

Humor, was somewhat deadpan, and lacked the fart jokes and cursing people demand from a "funny" sprite animation, but funny nonetheless.

Overall, I look forward to the next, hoping it flows quicker now that the tournament reasoning is out of the way, there can just be fighting.
If you improve on my suggestions, and keep working as hard as you did, I think this can be a very wonderful series. Congrats!

MrWeirdGuy responds:

Thanks, PandemicProducer! I appreciate the time you put into this review.

1: Sprites are overused, and that's inevitable, especially when working with NES sprites. One of the robot masters in the fight I'm currently working on only has about 5 or 6 sprites, total. So, I have to (try to) be creative.

2: Yeah, I'll agree with you about the background. That, I can blame only on laziness.

3: I'm not very good at story scenes, which would explain why the introduction was so boring. But it's gonna be nothing but battles, battles, a little storyline, and more battles!

4: Hopefully sound trouble will not be an issue in episode 2.

5: If I added gore, it would make the animation look less "NES-ish", for lack of a better word.

6: I wasn't really trying to do much with humor. This series is about action, not pointless fart jokes.

7: I really gotta say, your criticism is bound to help me with my future submissions, so I thank you for that. I'll work hard and take my time, but I won't take too much time. Expect to see episode 2 next week!
