I don't see what's not to get. Either that was like the soul of someone he'd already killed coming back to haunt him, or something along those lines. Hell maybe I *don't* get it, but that's what that was to me, so,..yeah.

I liked the flash and everything, but I think I missed the primary point. What was I supposed to 'get'?

NOt claiming any actual insight but skulls ussually represt death and age. SO i interperted it as the past and it's regrowing a body with old clothing and a broken sword shows me that the past can come back to haunt you. The gunslinger is fighting the misdeeds of his past in order to get on with his life.
I think that was getting alot from the dark tower.
