I think i know....
Frankly...this is a very good clip. I think that i got it. I watched it only five times but... i think that the skull has to do with the gunslinger`s dark side. The gunslinger hasn`t found its interior peace, and thus the skull (its torment, or whatever) comes back into life. The gunslinger wants to escape the reality- he knows that he is constantly in danger, therefore he protects himself by shooting da skull, the reality. The skull continues to come back to life because it represents the reality, NO ONE CAN ESCAPE IT. In my opinion the skull has a contemporary meaning.
