@Commander: Fun fact, the chances of a virus actually causing physical damage to people is so small that the idea only exist as a fantasy, same for the idea of a virus gaining sentiance. You know how many years the greatest minds have been trying to makie a true AI and have failed? Even if it somehow happened, and at one point the makers of the game finally accept it as happening which would likely take a while, they would probably just be looking for a hacker or a rouge emplyee. Its a program, something that somehow developed and likely would be far more intelligent then one person, do you think just deleting your game will get rid of it if its connected to the internet? If you actually cared about the world you would just try to find a way to damage it or find a source, if its somehow hanging around TOME ignoring everything else so far then there has to be a reason, and its better to keep it tempted then make it loose its reason and simply go into the internet into random networks.

Here's what I would have done if I was a creator of TOME. Shut down the servers. They have to have betas and back-ups. If a virus like that is able to permanently damage people in real life then forget it. Everything is lost. Force a mass log out by shutting down your own servers. Keep them down while you try to resolve the issue. It may force you into bankruptcy, but you are you really going to risk people having permanent injuries due to a videogame virus that gained sentience? Yeah, no. That's not going to happen. For one, there's the ethics of it. Second, you are going to be sued out the ass by the parties that are hurt. Thirdly, you are going to jailed for negligence and endangerment if you don't. Every account may have to be deleted and everyone and their grandmothers who use the game will either need a refund or a free new copy for the new servers that you will have to put up. It would be a disaster for the company and the gaming world in general. I could write an essay about this, but I'll leave it at that for now. I have other responsibilities to deal with right now. This story is intense. I like it. I hope the remake is even better now that you are no longer a inexperienced teenager. I wish I had the patience to make a series like this, but I guess I have to aim small for now even though I'm 19 and you were, what, 15 when you started this? TT.TT
