Reviews for "Wink: the Game"

Okay game

fun....a bit addictive...but when you actually fight the dragon...you shouldn't have the eating princess thing. That's annoying.

Awesome game, but the Hiding bug is a pain.

Great game, Even though the graphics are cartoony and mostly use basic shapes, it looked very nice. There wasn't much gorey violence (basically just the choke-kill), but that wouldn't have fit the graphic style anyways.
The only reason I gave interactivity a 9 out of 10 was because of the bug where hiding will sometimes move you through objects you shouldn't be moving through (walls, doors). That usually ended up with me floating in space slowly moving to the right side of the screen no matter which direction I tried to walk, and I also couldn't jump.

Overall I give it a 9... just because of the hiding bug. Once that's fixed, it's a 10. Awesome job!

Fantastic

Coming away from this game, I really am amazed. I will admit that I believe some of the shock from this game is due to seeing it. You have an excellent adventure game with well designed levels, good music, fun gameplay, etc. When considering all of this against it's humble visuals, it is easy to be suprised. The game's meek appearance really does a lot for magnifying it's more robust qualities. In gameplay I would say it is more enjoyable than Dad And Me, even, though the graphics don't measure up.
The graphics are really the only anomolie here. They make everything else in the game resound, bringing to the forefront the excellence of design, yet I still wonder if I would be completely amazed by everything else if the appearance didn't constantly downplay the magnitude of what I'm involved in. If it looked as good as it felt, would this game seem more like a well pollished game than a fantastic work of art?
(I gave a nine for violence even though there wasn't gore. I think the only violence in this game was presented in a wonderfully cartoon-ish style that is more appreciated than gore. I gave a nine in interactivity due to my dislike of using my pinkie to run. The run button took away from my jumping reflexes. Those were the only akward controls. Other than that I felt like the Prince of Persia.)

Can't rate it

I installed Macromedia 8, and all I get is a blue screen for this game.

where is the Q?

best adventure game ever played...in
terms of flash that is ;P

the controls were tight and the design
is entertaining and effective. my only
complaint is that it at times slowed down,
and there wasnt a quality button in sight.
its almost a must for games to have a
option to do so, if not, it becomes very
alienating. otherwise i incourage for more
winkness.
score: ****
kudos,
MJ

gel responds:

Aw, come on, MJ, you didn't go to the menu? Options! There's more than just Flash's built-in quality settings too. You know I wouldn't make a game without quality settings; it's a must!

I seriously don't know how you missed it. Just click around, like on that gray X in the corner. ;)
