Hard, but the second one is better.

Walkthrough time...

Since the sequel is out now, I thought I'd do a review walkthrough for this one first. I will only be doing a walkthrough of the main quest, the minigames are yours to conquer on your own.

Stage 1, The Dragon: By far the easiest creature to slay, the dragon attacks in a discernable pattern. At the beginning of the fight there is a green circle in the center of the dragon's head. Slash and keep your sword poised there, as the dragon will execute a swift chomp in the same place. This attack will be followed by between one and four fireballs. Blocking these is pretty self-explanatory. After the fireballs the green circle will reappear in the same place, strike again and repeat the above pattern.

Stage 2, the Spider: The spider is possibly the least obviously vulnerable of the creatures. There are eight VERY small green targets where each leg joins the body. The spider will attempt to damage you by spitting webbing at you that you merely cut down. The danger arises from the pitch dark conditions in the spider's lair. Keep your sword at the top of the screen when the spider ascends so you can see where it emerges.

Stage 3, the Kraken: Kill tentacles. Block the side tentacles. Go for the eyes. Be careful.

Stage 4, Black Mage: This is a waiting game. The black mage has four attacks. They will emerge in no particular order, so this could be a long fight. The mage can levitate rocks in groups of four to throw at you. You can cut these, so do so. The mage can also cast an ice spell. This attack is unblockable so leave your sword on the bottom of the screen to avoid it. The mage's third attack is a continuous bolt of lightning. You have to follow this bolt in a counterclockwise (anti-clockwise for the British) pattern to avoid damage. The final attack is fireballs reminiscent of the dragon's. Blocking the second fireball in the set will damage the mage. As stated earlier, this could take a while.

Stage 5, Darth Vader (ok, not really): His first form really looks like Darth Vader (or the Judges from FFXII). He has four attacks, all of which briefly leave him open to counterattack afterwards (don't try to go for the green circles before he strikes). Defending and counterattacking becomes a game of reflexes so try just defending at first to learn the places you can counter. The second part of the battle has a timer. Lucky for you all you have to do is survive, since no green bit appear. The first attack sequence is like the Kraken's second set of tentacles. Just alternately block. Then you get blue fireballs thrown at you. Block these normally, but beware that they take a while to disappear. Make sure they do before you try to block the next one. After that, the tentacles reappear, but rotate clockwise. Then begin alternating again. If you die here don't worry, you don't have to battle Vader again. Survive until the timer expires and you win.

I'll post the Aeternus Lamina 2 walkthrough soon.
Happy Independance Day to all my fellow Americans. Nyah nyah to the British (just messin' ya know I love all you blokes). Goodnight to all.

Carni

hello!

beat it.
t'was easy.
goodbye.

hardest game on touchpad but still AWESOME

first time i played this game on the mouse i beat it dieing like 3 or 4 times. when i played it on a touch pad (the thing on the lap top) i died well over 50 times but i still beat this game so if you want a true challange go on a laptop and use the touch pad lol. and this game is really great i hope there are more to come.

this is good, second one is better.

the only problem i really had with this one is that the blocking had to be dead on or you got hit. it was pretty cheap and i couldnt beat the black mage because of it.
