Well, I guess I'd better share my thoughts on this game as well. I haven't played the other two games, although I've seen them via Retsupurae, and honestly I'm glad I only put myself through this one.
Firstly, the concept, a flash Metroid game, is good. There should be some good flash Metroid games out there, but yet the three from The-EXP are the only three, which just makes this one all the worse.
I'm just gonna cut to the chase. The art is terrible. Ridley looks, as said on Retsupurae, like Meta Knight. The only enemies are Metroids, which are way too weak for being Metroids. The bonuses are terrible, and not even worth the 5 minutes it takes to beat this game. That's another point. It's way too short. There's 3 lots of enemies, and the boss against Ridley. There's no replayability, because nobody would want to play this game again, not even to unlock All Your Base. If someone wanted to watch All Your Base, they could look it up on YouTube in a fifth of the time it takes to play this. There's only one puzzle, and it's just "shoot all 4 circles quickly". The game is way too easy on easy, and way too difficult on higher difficulties. It's almost impossible on Hard. There's no middle ground. The voice acting is terrible and the plot is just as bad.
And some people have given this game higher scores, because it came out in 2005. But is that really an excuse for this game being so, so bad? This is The Town With No Name quality, and that came out over 20 years ago. I can't believe I put myself through this game, even after knowing how bad it was, but I did, and I regret every second of it. Don't play this game. The worst part, is that this is the best of the three he made. I'm not playing the other two. I've seen enough from Retsupurae.
