I never bothered to find out about scientology
And now, I have a reason to REALLY laugh at it. The entire premise is so ridiculous, it actually hurts to hear the explanation of it.
I knew L Ron Hubbard was a sci-fi writer, but I wasn't sure if he was the SAME L Ron Hubbard who made scientology. After all, it wouldn't be the first time someone tried to grab glory by having their named changed and I've stumbled across a few authors with similar names before. Look at all the idiots who get their names legally changed to "Jesus Christ" every year.
I'd heard about Tom Cruise's freaky behavior and I'm almost certain either scientology is a cult much like Heaven's Gate (minus the self-castration...for now) or they're all going insane in the same exact manner. And considering the likelyhood of the latter, it's very likely a cult.
