Nice try, but a failed attempt.
This is a third rate space-ship-shooting game at BEST. It's slow, the enemy bullets are too fast and tiny for you to usually see and dodge. The playing space was wide, but you barely have time to see them before they're on top of you. Most of the weapons suck and are relatively useless. But most of all, it was slow and repetitive. I'll usually play a game all the way through before I make judgements, but this just lacked EVERY awesome factor of top-down single-powerful-fighter-to-destroy-them-all that makes them so great.
Try evening out the weapons more. The random fire weapon almost never hit. The lazy was good and strong, but it just had no spread, so it wasn't very useful. I didn't even try a few of the others since their first incarnation was far too weak to do anything with.
The monochrome is kinda lame. It would be EASILY overlooked if the game rocked. But it just didn't. It was slow, dry, and boring.
But WORST of all was the FREAKING MUSIC! Dull, EXTREMELY repetitive trancy crap with no energy to it. It matched the game perfectly, unfortunately.
