Reviews for "The Ambridge Mansion-Day1"

Wow, great stuff man!

Being a fledgling flash author myself I really have alot of appreciation for some of the innovative things you did. Although Many other flashes do things along the lines of point-and-click, but you have a great sense of style and placement which makes what would be another boring flash into something that is truly enveloping. I always think a great game is something that draws emotions from you that normally wouldn't arise. You have achieved this, great job!

My advise would be to possibly put small glints and imperfections on important clicking spots (like the locations of the marbles) to help the flow of the story for the casual gamer. When I've made interactive things I've had to learn that what seems obvious to me, isn't so much for the casual gamer who has a short attention span. Great job none the less.

...Mommy...

As soon as I entered every room, I put the candle in as fast as I could and lit it. After I did I felt so much relief. Sadly, that relief was cut short when I thought: "hey, what's that in the window?" I love it, I love it so much. It's terrifying.

jimgray responds:

Cool, it looks like that little set up worked perfectly then :Þ

oh man!

i am definantley going to wait till morning till i do this....

Scarey!

The prelude part to that really freaked me out! The actual game was pretty good also, but I think you should have incorporated some of the excellent ideas in the prelude into the actual game.

*SPOILERS FOLLOW*
- You should be able to get rid of the "current item" from the mouse pointer, it got a little annoying.
- You should have included the candles and matches in the one item "set" - it was annoying to have to use both every room.
- The floorplan was difficult to picture, and I resorted to the walkthrough. How about a COMPASS somewhere?
- The best solution to the picture/colour/number puzzle would have been if each panel, from left to right, related SPACIALLY to the pictures behind the panel. The numbers assigned to each box would relate to the ORDER in which the coloured rooms were visited by Death. Numbering things from left to right is kinda arbitrary, I mean a chinese person might number from right to left.
Also, black didn't relate to gluttony in the info given, I had to google it! (Kinda destroys the ambience). GREAT WORK anyway!

HOLY SH*T !!!!

kick ass! , its been a while since i was afraid of my on computer and it was was confusing, make something with more puzzles and more rooms to look around.
