Personally, this reminded me of Star Ocean: Til the End of time
At some point, you escape from a dungeon via an aqueduct and out into the snow. Brilliant thought, right? Still a good game. And this is a good song.

This is among my favorite genre of music. Being a writer, when I hear music like this whether it be ambient, orchestra, or mainly any type of instrumental piece, my mind starts wandering. Interestingly enough, I heard this on a flash submission (To Catch) and came here. Even more interesting, a scene unfolded in my head involving a wary traveler in a snowy ravine as I listened; that was before I read your description.
Simply put this was inspiring and I favorited it; I love stuff that makes my mind wander. 5/5 10/10!
