Not gonna waste time. The hips are wider than the chest. Fine in normal women but Samus' were a bit smaller.

Holy hips batman. Though I am definitely a fan of the style, Samus herself is all sorts of disproportionate. That being said, I absolutely love Metroid, and therefore this picture.
I'm a huge Metroid fan, but the pose really doesn't do it for me. Seems like her legs are spread way to wide apart (har har) to do anything useful. Also, is that like... a second mask underneath the mask? On the up side, I love this artstyle accentuating the lines with lots of shading in between. Also, it's Samus, which is a big plus :P.
So, let me get everything I like out of the way first. The art direction looks like a strange concoction of comicbook meets Tron and color wise -lots and lots of blues, purples and black- so, really dark (ominous) which is what Metroid should be! The actual design of her armor is sleek and for the most part spot on, you nail every shape and section. (assuming you were going for her Metroid Prime model)
The entire reason for me docking points comes from the body proportions you've given Samus. To put it bluntly, she looks fat and her stance is uncomfortable and awkward. Her entire pose needs to be reworked and made to be much slimmer. (waist and thighs mostly) I'm not criticizing plus sized females or anything of that nature, so please nobody take this out of context. Simply put in every featured release she is created to be that every woman that men swoon over, not a bloated pregnant whale. If this issue was dealt with I could see myself bumping the 3.5 up to a 4.0
Please allow me to clarify again, everything else is perfect. The clouds and Chozo statues in the background especially. I mean, WOW, you really gave the civilization a unique *futuristic* spin. Can't help but shake it is too out of place though, I'd love to see you go in the complete opposite direction and put together an ancient, desolate, worn down, moss has grown over, bugs everywhere, earthy scene rather than such a metallic and Sci-Fi esque painting.
I won't lie, I'm curious and want to see more in the vein of this signature look. I can see the potential, a successful artist is just aching to burst out of you. I'm all over the place and make little to no sense I'm sure, so I'll just wrap this up. Gonna keep my eye on you, PLEASE show me work that shuts me up and makes me give you a five, I'd be delighted.
Makes me want to watch Alien all over again.
