Reviews for "Roadkill and Juliet"

remeniscent of vinnies work

what in the hell i say?
i dont see what is so appealing
about this...the visuals were
charming and had a unique
sense of style, but the content
was moronic. a girl falling over
a hawk, was stopped by the emo
police? i cant tell if it was done
intentionally in a way to be cute,
but it was just stupid...the music
only adds more to that...meh.

Cute romantic parody of romance.

Romance, comedy and parody in all nice cute package, that doesn't fail you down. In overall the movie was well made to the end and I believe this is really one underrated movie. This reminds me a lot of movies like Hoy te amo ++, which is good. Made me watch this couple times and write a review, which both are rare occurances.

The graphical quality was nice. Sure, it's no Bitey of Brackenwood, but you definitely have your own nice style there, which I personally find very cute and especially fitting for this movie. I'm no expert on music, but I thought the song in the movie was also well chosen and more cheery or dark music would have definitely spoiled the mood.

The movie really made me smile, as those cliched romantic scenes were excellent parody. It was also very cute and kinda touching at the same time, but without being too bloated or unfinished in any part.

The only real letdown was the animation quality in the beginning, but it improved by then end of the movie. Keep up the good work and refine your style. I look forward to seeing more of your handiwork in the future.

Thank you for your kind review. I'm honored that you'd happily compare Hoy te amo++, which is one of my personal favorites. I also appreciate your respect for my song choice, which had gone through much deliberation. I understand what you mean by the slowly "upgrading" graphical quality that increases as the movie progresses. Being my second flash, I was able to learn how to make my animation more efficent as I went along, allowing me animate at a higher level towards the end of the animation.

I figure that a consistent level of animation will be my next objective in my next animation.

I'm also glad you caught the romantic scenes--and I also hope that you notice that all of them displayed characters whose love was destined to be tragically broken up (i.e. Titanic, Pulp Fiction, etc.) There's all kinds of stuff that I enjoyed inserting into the movie as the animation slowly came together.

I'm really touched that that you "had that moment" in the animation as well. that's what I was really going for. All and all, thanks for the love.

this was really great i liked it alot

thanks for sending this to new grounds it was really great to me

very nice

very nice flash, touching and catchy. the graphics could have been done by a poo throwing monkey, but it doesnt seem to get in the way of the style. keep it up (And practice drawing!! lol)

What an odd story. One which was dark in a way seeings that it all might just be in the girls head.
I liked the style to this, a bit of Vinnie and your own personal style of animation with one frame jumps into the next pose. The girl was very well animated what with the frindge at the front moving which is something a lot of animators would have ignored. Moreover you had some kind of insight into the neature of the girl in the way that she held her hands and herself, brilliant attention to detail Because of this you have a sense of feeling for the character making her memorable.
I'm not going to pass any judgment on the music appart from it was good for the movie but I woulden't personally listen to it myself.
That plot though was as weird as a beard, I think I'm the only one who thought that the half-pint goths (emos) have started some kind of underground world domination what with the Emo police and all.
Anyway I've lost the sight in my left eye so I think I'll go and have a lie down now.

Skaijo responds:

It is an odd story--weird as a beard. Heh.

I'm glad you caught that "Maybe she's just crazy vibe" too. I'll admit that the fact that it's all in the girl's head has a certain possiblitity--but it's so much fun to see it as pioneers into a new frontier of love, girls and hawks, why not?

I'm appreciative that you so kindly acknoledged the level of detail in the movie--and that you'd would note that the song choice was good for the animation even despite the fact that it wouldn't make it into your personal .mp3 archive.

Thanks for the love. I seriously appreciate it.

Hope your eye feels better.
