Reviews for "Ambivalence"

Absolutely phenominal

Ya know something... this is probably by far one of the better songs going around Newgrounds right now. I don't really know why I hadn't come across this sooner but I'm glad I finally did.

What to say about this track... There really is something almost... unearthly about this song. I'd almost categorize this in the ambiance section on the audio portal but the guitar kinda throws that idea out the window. It has a very slow but steady rise and buildup throughout the track that kept me engaged from the very beginning. The drums aren't overdone or too hardcore for that matter but they added a nice steady beat that made this all the more pleasant to listen to. The keyboards (I'm assuming that's what some of the sound fx are in the background) were the perfect touch that really compliments the entire piece. And the guitar, ABSOLUTELY GREAT! I'm a real sucker for solo's/single string picking as this is what I predominantly do myself on my guitar. You successfully married all of these very dynamic and engaging elements together and produced something that came together very nicely. Finally at the end it breaks out into a harmony of everything put together that is just a little more action packed and picks up the pace and produces a very fine and ultimately satisfying song to listen to.

Great job on the track. I'll be sure to keep my eye on you in the future

It's not good, it's great!!!
5/5
infact.....
this might just be.....awesome

I could guess a few influences. Perhaps explosions in the sky?

They don't have any post rock because everybody sucks at it, until now.
Although...a bit slower....a touch of Mono?

*Edit* it's been an odd 10 years or so and I still listen to this song quite frequently. It's so superb

Robot-Lock responds:

As a matter of fact, I don't listen to Explosion In The Sky, but I've heard some, and I really like it. Not an influence though. My only influences for this song are Pink Floyd and God Is An Astronaut.

Thanks for the review!

Great!

It kinda reminds me of 'In the House - In a Heartbeat', a soundtrack from '28 Days Later'
Really impressive!
