Reviews for "DownTempo Étranger"

Great Production.

Slow burning madness. I definitely see this is some trippy flash, it doesn't pick up so I'd consider this an ambient.

Love the beats.

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks, Ambient is probably the best term for it, but lately I've just been putting things in misc. I thought the last 30 seconds or so were much better than the beginning and I'm planning on remixing this a little... Talk to you later!

definantly "ill"

That was truly a miraculous peice of work.

I really felt stoned listening to that. Or that I should be stoned...

The vocals, as chronamut said, were extremely sick. The track was trance-like, but at the same time too slow to be trance really...It was like a trance song that was slowed down and taken apart.

Anyway, A+ work right there. Maybe you should think of a remix?

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks - I most likely will remix this a bit - I'm glad that you liked it - Next time around I'll most likely bring the tempo up a bit and then throw in more glitchy stuff.

I think I've seen you posting around the audio forum - I'll take a listen to some of your stuff...

Miami huh? Looks like I'm just a little upstate from ya'... Any good clubs down there where an aspiring young artist might get thier music played?

Great Production

I love the phattness of the bass in this trk. But overall i find the trk drags a bit and could do with some other parts coming in and out, maybe some fast electro high-hats or glitching. I like the female talking and the general vibe of the trk is nice and chilled. Maybe try keeping the beats more clicky and minimalist and get rid of the backing beat and replace it with sfx and crackles and glitch? I think doin this would make the trk sound less monotonous.
Good Stuff.

LJCoffee responds:

cool - I really do love the glitchy stuff and I'll most likely work on a second version - same as I did with "under the influence". This piece was a bit longer than some of my others so it does drag a bit - esp. since I feel that there is a lot more happening toward the end than the beginning. Only prob is I doubt many people will listen that far... Two notes of interest - I managed to get a few bits of music played at a local club - That's right about when I realized that I've made a HUGE mistake as I've mastered all of my stuff using headphones - Didn't really sound as good over speakers but the DJ made a few eq adjustments and did manage to get it all sounding halfway decent... Looks like I need a decent set of speakers for mastering...
And second - in the Audio forums under "Best Artists/Composers" or whatever it is - your name was mentioned several times - and you got my vote as well!

Keep up the great work on your end - I look forward to seeing your first CD's on the retail shelves - you could make a ton!

Later...
