Reviews for "Advanced Car Movement"

its very good but i cant seem to make more walls!

i really like that tutorial i found it very useful but i wasnt really able to make it following the tutorial and so i downloaded the file, i fiollower your instruction VERY carefully but no matter what i do i cant seem to be able to create another solid wall! do you have any suggestions on what i should do?

Wow, A blue car!!

Its good to see the car didnt rotate on its axis like a turrent in a 360 degree direction, it actually went through with its movements insted of stopping instantly , and the tire marks appeard just at the right time. Ever consider remaking Gta for flash?, it would turn out to be really good.

DavidProvost responds:

Actually yes, I tried that and put days of work into it. Although Flash is made to create rich internet applications, not computer games. I made a city and everything. But since there was so much going on the game lagged extremely!!! But Im making a game right now called Hit-N-Run where you just run people over.

Cool

I really like the idea, and that you can improve it so much like damage on cars, multiplayer and stuff like that. To bad i could not get it working... the explanation about the box in the car should be more detailed so you really get it.

DavidProvost responds:

Your not the first person that suggest I do so...So I'm working on making this into a game right now with damage and what not. Its hard to explain this thouroughly because there is so much to cover, so thats why I made a link to the source in the extras so that you can download it.

((( GREAT )))

Wow this is some great details you have here, the menus, and interectivaty is really nice, i like how you show how you did things in this flash, and the effort you have put into it. The graphics, and drawings are great, and its a really good idea...

DavidProvost responds:

Thanks man.

Yes! Genius still exists!

I am so happy someone made this tutorial, thank you! I hope you make a game out of it!

Just a few pointers (no criticism, just advice):

You have an axis which your car rotates around right? Well, why not move that axis to the back of the car so that it seems like it will be steering with the front wheels (you could probably do this by making the car longer with one half invisible, so the back of the visual car is in the middle... ?) something like that...

Also, if you drive backwards, is there any way that you can inverse the controls? Like when you're in reverse and then hit left that it will follow the same curve backwards? That would be realistic...

Maybe I'm just talking nonsense, but it's worth a shot right? I gave this a 4!

DavidProvost responds:

Thanks man, Im currently making a game out of this. Yea, I can move the axis by just moving the pivot point down a little. I dont why I didnt do that...Thanks for the pointers.
