Rather straightforward
This is little more than a typical run of the mill sprite movie - it's well made technically but is lacking in humour and interesting twists, basically everything that makes an average movie good.

Perhaps it got such a high rating because you had good frame rates, and everything fit in with each other.
So overall, nice job
Really nice work.
Smooth animation, nice story (could have done with a tiny bit more).
The small file size is also a plus!
The way you included the little parts was great (like the way when mario jumped of the edge, his hat was titled, and the way he skidded [most people would not bother to put those aspects in]).

To improve apon this I would suggest

I agree, I should've made it longer. This was more of an experiment rather than a cartoon because this is the first time I used sprites (and I just made this over the weekend). So the next one will have more variety in it. Thanks for the positive comments!
