But anyway, to people like Sidgame who are grossly uninformed: Scientists and Historians alike have never brought to light anything remotely resembling evidence of core christian beliefs. If you're referring to the cloth some believed was wrapped around Jesus's body after the crucifiction, carbon dating proved that it was woven centuries AFTER that incident.
Also, from a historian point of view the earliest mentioning of Jesus Christ was several centuries AFTER his supposed death. No mentionings of such a man, who was supposedly hated by so many during his time, were ever made during the timespan of his life. Pompus Pilot (Sp?) the man who gave the go-ahead for Jesus Christ's crucifiction, who otherwise kept a strict journal of the people he had a hand in killing, also never spoke of such a man.
Most Historians and Scientists believe that stories from the bible, until otherwise proven, are just that... STORIES. However, they DO keep an open mind about the subject, as such is needed in their profession. And no, science is not a religion because there is no truly definate law for anything. In religion you are told "this is how it happened, end of story" but in science theories are constantly changing and old rules are broken and rewritten with the arrival of new information.
