Reviews for "Towelie Soundboard"

cool

good job keep it that way!! :]

Nice soundboard

and Towelie is just awesome. Your sound was good and clear and what you had was pretty funny. Very nice soundboard.

Fun

Awesome. very fun soundboard. Not exactly the kind of thing you come back to to listen to every time, but fun once experience. Good for amusement. I was beginning to think i was gunna look at pixels the whole time from what the loading part looked like, but it turned out fine. It seemed just a bit cluttered, but it's over all alright, and all in one place, so I suppose no complaints. This was fun.

i have seen some real shoddy soundboards here

and this is not one of them. I'm not normally one to pay much attention to sound boards in general because they usually suck (ie, could never be used to prank call anyone), but this one has serious potential.

not to mention Towelie is one of the greatest random cartoon characters ever created, and was most certainly conceived by the south park thinktank after going through a 6-paper joint.

Sticks to the purpose and does it well :)

Haha I have to say, this is probably one of the most random and funny soundboards I’ve seen on the NG yet. Partly because there’s a lot to choose from for a soundboard; and also because it is based around what is arguably the most geeky safe-conscious character form ‘South Park’ of all time…
First off, graphics. Not exactly the most breathtaking in a game, but then again why would they need to be? This is a soundboard, what really matters is sound. Anyway, I like the blue stony-looking buttons for the game, I was pretty surprised at this, but in a good way. Because there are so many sounds to choose from, in a soundboard an author doesn’t normally pay as much attention to detail in the buttons, but I’m glad to see you made a decent effort. The text was clearly laid out and I liked the giant ‘SILENCE’ and red button for the no sound option, the colours were relevant to the flash and just the way you added that in made me chuckle; it was a good addition just in case you had lots of sounds all going at once and needed them to come to a sudden stop. I liked the ‘South Park’ background behind the buttons, well what I could see of it. I could argue there wasn’t much of a background and all the buttons were cramped close together, but then again this is understandable – you had loads of sounds to fit onto one screen. If you tried to create more of a theme in the background this would pretty much mess up the screen, either you would have to get rid of some sounds completely (thus, giving us less to choose from and therefore lowering the flash’s interactivity score) or you would have to shrink the buttons, squashing up the text and making the name of the phrase harder to read. Obviously, this text pretty much tells us of what the sound is about, because it says it all and is important.
Next, sounds. Obviously the best aspect of the whole entire game, because sound is what it is pretty much based around. I loved the sounds because they were classic South Park high-pitched level, and the way you had different ways of saying one phrase for the character was a clever idea, It gave us different views of the character and set different moods. For example, one minute we think this towel is cute, the next he is getting high out of his mind =P. The sounds were of good quality and I liked that there were a few sound effects in the background in some of the buttons, this shows the sounds are taken straight out of South Park. Even when a phrase wasn’t particularly funny, the way it was presented made it seem so. All-in-all, excellent sound.
Finally, game-play. This really does link into the sound of the flash, and combined the two make the best aspect of this soundboard. I love the fact there’s a lot to choose from because it gives us more to listen too and this gives the flash better replay value. Because there’s no plot to it, it is something you’ll be sure to come back to again and again for a good laugh in your spare time. I also FELT this soundboard a bit, even when a phrase shouldn’t have been very funny it gave me a good chuckle anyway because of the way it was presented. Linked with the sound, the game-play of this flash was boosted simply due to the fact that it was nice to click AND listen at the same time – in some ways there was good interactivity offered to the player because they have the complete control to choose what they listen to. I also liked the fact that if you clicked lots of sounds at the same time they all played together, but you could also use the ‘Silence’ button to stop them. I have to admit, I did click a lot of the buttons at times just for a little laugh to hear them all messed up next to each other, but it was impressive you could still pick out the individual phrases fairly well.
Overall, definitely one of the best sound boards. Sure, it might not show as much effort as a proper game, but this isn’t meant not be that. It’s a soundboard, and it simply sticks to its purpose and does it well. Well done :)
