Reviews for "Nazism"

Beautiful.

That was definately the best historical peice on the Holocaust here. That was absolutely beautiful. I myself am of German background, and I am ashamed of it's past. At school we've been studying the Holocaust and WWII, and noone takes it seriously, they all think it's one big joke. I am glad to see that someone besides me takes it seriously. I thank you for making this animation, deeply thank you, and I'd like to see many more like it. Keep up the great work, dude.

NathanButchart responds:

Thanks a lot, man. 'Preciate it.

Not bad

A nice change from the usual holocaust flashes, where instead of retelling facts that everyone seems to know, you try to convey a message.

One historical fact, however is that NO, it was not entirely orchestrated by the will of one man, you have to remember that almost the ENTIRE German populace, if not all of Europe, supported and even reveled in faschist ideology, and there were active fascist movements in a dominating amount of nations even before Hitler came to power. So when I hear people blindly moaning how it was not their fault, but that of Hitler and his party that all of this happened, it leads me to raise an eyebrow. Let's not forget, the ovens in Osviencim were operated and maintained largely by Poles, because even the German guards, no matter of their atrocious nature could not attend to this "business". Were they forced to do so under fear of death? I can't be certain. Many Poles even volunteered...

"Never Again"?...I [bleakly] hope so.

NathanButchart responds:

I know that Hitler was not the one and only cause of the holocaust and anti-semitism, and frankly, I'm gettng tired of writing it, but I can't stop people from thinking, so whaddaya gonna do.

Beautiful, great job

Over the past few years, though my interest has been sparked the most the past few months, I have become more interested in this event. With this month being the month I guess the most rememberance goes on, either for Hitler's b-day or Anne Franks diary and so on, I killed some time looking at the numbers and facts of the holocaust.
I have read different numbers and claims and so on, which has lead to me have no clue what to believe to be fact. Rather than go into the details, I really can't tell if this event was quite as severe as history tells us. I noticed you said 10mil was the death toll, but I have read that records say 6mil was, and a picture you had said as much. Please don't bash me though I can very easily be wrong ^^;;
The point I really have to make to those who think the holocaust didn't happen AND to those who do, it is utterly impossible to say nothing happened at all, and whether is was has big as the media tells us your message is still just as true, by knowing the past ect.
I do think however, other genocides such as one a few years before WWII in Russia with almost all many fatalities should be as pointed out as well. Though history shows that Jews have by far takin the most sh*t from others, we should learn that other cultures can be just as prosecuted. Great job, you better have gotten an A on that ^^;;

NathanButchart responds:

Thanks a bunch for the review.

Lest we forget...

As a socialist, I hate to see others suffer. To imagine myself living in a country where the charisma of a leader is so great that his horrific deeds are either overlooked or sugar-coated by the media for the brainwashed masses is just beyond my comprehension. To see an entire race singled out by one man, whose beliefs tell him that these particular people are garbage and not worth anything, just sickens me.

Beliefs and politics should never mix. You do what's best for the people, regardless of what you want or feel you deserve. The holocaust happened because of one man's fear, low self-esteem, inadequate intelligence, and lack of compassion. Sadly, these qualities seem to make for charismatic leaders.

NathanButchart responds:

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Thanks for the input.

fix the title or add more.

This was not about nazism, rather about the holocuast.
And it didnt have much information except for a few quotes and an emotional outreach of pictures from the past and people re-visiting those sites as well as sculptures made in honor.
You mentioned the millions of Jews that died, but neglected to inform anyone of the millions of europeans that died alongside them.
Itd be an "ok" piece as an intoduction to something more, or as a powerpoint prsentation. But as it stands on its own its pretty weak.

It's good as a step to informing kids, or people about the holocaust...but as a "step" alone because you didnt mention anything.

NathanButchart responds:

This flash was never meant to be specific or state a lot of facts, it was just meant to get people to think, and I see it worked. Thanks for the criticism.
