They come alive to kill the critter. Simple as that. Also, the reasons why all the dead critters were there is because it is a 'critter killer' refuse pit.

i saw ur other works so i decided to check this one out and it is THE BEST so far its so good and u should continue the series and there should b an origin story or something like that or an episode of explaining what he is and y he likes carrots
