I just love hearing this song. besides ice cap this is my favorite song. This is just as good as the one submitted by jpsuperfresh. Casino Night Jazz.
The nightlife....
I still remember playing through this stage. Flashing lights, hitting bumpers, and spinning the slots. I just loved how the background looked. The only thing that got me was the boss battle at the end. It got real annoying trying to hit Robotnik lol.
Anyways, on with the review.
I love the jazzy tune in this song. Great choice of instruments. I love the trumpets (trombones?) playing throughout the song, and the saxophones are a nice touch. What I really like though is the bass. Sounds perfect IMO.
Overall I like the whole song, and even the saxophone solo starting at 1:07. The only thing I would change is the saxophones' volume. It just seems too quiet.

Heh, funny you should say that; I've always felt that the bass is the heart & soul of Jazz & Big Band! It ain't Jazz without a bass fiddle. :D
