Reviews for "The 5 Shades of Red"

wow

all of those, except space chicken, were equally fantastic, and yes even twinsen dudes, i think it would be goud 2 hav on windows media player for valentines day, lol, overall, a fantastic flash, infact, its going in my favs

Was this in response to that "shades of green"

compilation thingie awhile back? Hm. Well, green and blue are my fave colours, but red isn't far behind... So anywho, I'm mostly reviewing this because I review all of Zekey's flashes sooner or later (hey, Zekey), but I shall be reviewing everyone's part in it:

Mynamewontfitin: Nice fireplace scene... dig the animation and simple backgrounds. Effective sketchy style. That dude's hair is... wow... looks like one of those magnetic toys with the little iron filaments you trace around with a magnet pencil to put beards and hair on faces... wild. Best part? Flying over the hills and all. Good stuff!

TwinsenDude: Now now, no need for the warning sign, really. The fractally/smokey thing shifting into a heart was pretty cool right from the get go. The checkerboard 3D portion and all was okay. A little TOO 3D-y for my tastes in a way. The smiley shifty thingie was kinda cool. Most of all, you picked an interesting techno track (that's one song by ParagonX9 I haven't heard... huh!), so even if the visuals were getting a bit repetitive, it worked as a short but sweet music video.

Greedom: And we go from NG Audio Portal techno... to... teh Beatles. Good mix of music we got going here. Wonderfully framed, the camera movements work well... and the characters themselves are ... wow. Just really unique and special. You've got great style and you told a story, and that's plain nifty. The only part I probably could have done without was the lyrics appearing on the screen, but hey... if you wanted to do it that way, that's cool. I just felt that it pulled my eyes away from the characters and other things on screen at times. Very nice short! Bravo, Bravo, take a bow!

humbumpoop: More Beatles. Heh. I sense there was some discussion of teh musical accompaniments. Very different animation and drawing style than the previous flashes, and I loves me my varieties, so... I dig it. I dig it heavy and deep. Come Together. Yeah.

ZekeySpaceyLizard: Heh... Love the popping bubbly hearts flying out of everything but our protagonist and his little Cupid guy or whatnot. Anyway, as usual, Zekey, quite a delightfully frenetic flash you've made. I love any scene with motion and action, as usual, such as him chasing the heart. And hey, it's even got a lil' happy ending there. Good music for the visuals, and hey! We're off the Beatles run for a change. GO ZEKEY!

Valtrix: First off... does your name resemble Valtrex on purpose (a Herpes medication) or was that not intentional? Anyway, sorry about that, couldn't help but notice, though. Hm... striking sudden intrusion of VOICE into the proceedings here. I mean, sure, there were lyrics in the past 3 songs in the past 3 shorts... but this is the first time there's been spoken dialogue. Anyway, it kinda cut off abruptly there (the plot, I mean), but I guess that was your point. Ahhh, ephemeral life... shorter lived, in many cases, than the love it creates within its span.

Space_Chicken: Hmmm... Whoa. The dude's gf (in the photo) looks like a female Kirby... but he looks kinda like a furry version of the ghosts from Pac-Man. FASCINATING. Very good music choice... ah, there she is. No, she's a furry ghost, too. You just couldn't see her... um... furry parts in the little polaroid (just her pink spherical head and her anime-smiley-Kirby-ish eyes... heh). Cute! Short but cute.

Dralnus: Interesting character design... the egg, the dude, the animals... But the best was the ocean and sun setting into it at the end. It looked a lot better then than it did at the start (when it looked like it was a gob of reddish gooey stuff that was melting all over a floor! heh). I like the visual style, and it was wonderfully red indeed.

You all made great flashes (yes, even the second one in all its 3D simplicity and lack-of-a-plotness), and the full compilation is more than the sum of its parts. Anytime that's true, you've got a GREAT compilation. So... good job, all!

It's a very nice collective animation :)

It's the kind of thing that makes me smile and make me feel better for the rest of the day. Thanks for sharing happiness guys, I liked it a lot :)
