this is one of the best submissions ever! i've been waiting so long for somebody to come along and make a game as good as this one
Reviews for "Sky Boarder III"
Not bad.
A massive improvement over the other Sky Boarder titles.
Things to improve:
1) The GUI/HUD, it's small, hard to read, placed badly, and isn't easy enough to just get a glance and know how you're set, without looking too far away from what you're doing. Ways to fix this: Instead of the 'Strong... Weak... tired' display by themselves, put a bar behind it, that also indicates how much melee energy you have left. Much easy to referance.
2) The graphics, need ALOT of work. They lack detail, shading, and the walking movements need massive improvement, to look even remotely like a human.
3) Storyline, try and think up something original, that doesn't involve protagonist (x) must go find (x) amount of (x) item to defeat (x) and his (x), Where X is greater than or equal to, something extremely common, and overused.
4) Character names, also lacked originality, don't know how you could improve it, just it could use some fixing.
5) Betrayal, nothing adds to the enjoyment of a Adventure game more than a backstabbing asshole who turns on you and gets killed in a very brutal way.
6) Sound, the voice acting left alot to be desired. Improvement can be made there.
7) GAMEPLAY, this one is most important, add some perks, to make it feel less like a sidescrolling shoot 'em up, and more like a real game. It's nice to have the extra attacks, and the warp speed and all that, but it'd be nice to have alternate melee attacks, E.G. Jump up off the board doing a spinning attack and land back on the board for upattack, and maybe a downward slash, etc.
Aside from those problems, it was pretty fun. Good job.
