Reviews for "Fascist America"

Characteristic #15 -- Everyone has an agenda.

If America were truly fascist, sites like Newgrounds could not exist. You're all allowed to say what you want and no government-employed thugs come to stop you.

interesting

as flash goes, once again this is mundane, but this is actually an intellectual (and IMO accurate) political statement, as opposed to the other flash.

it is undoubtedly true that the US under bush is exhibiting fascist tendencies, but i wouldn't call it outright fascism quite yet. first of all, i take issue with number 14: most of the elections have certainly not been fraudulent. although obviously florida 2000 bears some questionable activity, at the least, 2004 was not a fraudulent election at all, and most elections (for example, for some congressman in north dakota) are not fraudulent. facing facts, america simply has more fascists than not.

the other point is that it's unfair to call america a fascism today, yet, because its true that some semblance of civil rights yet remains, and basically, opposition still exists. the constitution dictates the considerable power of the states themselves, and this means the blue states are only partially controlled by bush. as i mentioned before, these elections are not fraudulent.

however, it is very true that bush's viewpoints coincide with fascism, and if the "effect" of the word fascism was not as harsh (much like the word liberal seems to have taken on a negative connotation), i'm sure that bush would admit to his numerous correlations to fascism. the fact remains that fascism is a culture of the extremist right, and bush falls very close to it. the one thing i contest, again, is that bush's example proves that fraudulent elections are not necessarily part of fascism: they are unnecessary when the majority of the population is fascist to begin with.
