Well i tell you one thing, playing rpg's is fun, making them sucks..I never got passed figuring out how collision detection works X__X
Mediocre.
Inconsistent in many ways. Some animation is great, some is not. Some of the voice acting is fine, most of it isn't. The comic timing is spot-on, but the direction and pacing feel flimsy. The humour could have been great, but instead the comedic shticks are overused and get repetitive. It's not the simplicity that bothers me--SpongeBob is a good example of simple, almost infantile humour that works--but the repetition and general feeling of laziness that comes from it. Your designs are great, but the original characters look bland and everything else is inspired by video game/cartoon designs done by somebody else.
The best parts in the film had to have been the "two nerds slapping each other over Star Trek episode numbers, one wearing a batman costume" sequence, and the "lightswitch" bit just before. The blue hedgehog (Johnny) falling out of the building was funny the first time, because the context had shifted from the cliff, but you tried the same thing again without dialogue later, and it just felt weak by comparison. There were TONS of other scenes that had plenty of potential, but I'm not going to go into them here--they're all fairly small, but would've greatly smoothed the flow of the piece.
Lastly, I'm going to bug you about proportion. The characters just didn't look proportionate to their surroundings, and the characters' appendages and physical proportions looked pretty lopsided.
That's pretty much everything. Lots of potential here, but it would've been better with more focus, more attention to detail, and more polish. I understand you were frustrated with how long it took people to send you their lines, but it would've made your movie a lot more fun to watch had more time been put into the actual animation.
I also understand that there are a lot of crappy, hackneyed animations at NG, but that doesn't mean you have to rush yours just because people's standards are low. Good luck in the future.

Hmm.. darn, must say this flashmovie got the best reviews i got in ages, in terms of people actually speaking their minds instead of just screaming " YOU SUCK!" Guess everyone Is maturing and i should do the same i guess.. Right, to defend myself, or agree with you..
Some animation is great, some not.. Hmm, the obvious diffrence between the frame by frame moments and the tween moments.. Yes..
Direction and pacing? What do you mean with that?
Comedic oversued and repeatic.. Hmm, well most jokes in this episodes were indeed running gags, this indeed has a low standard in witty jokes, which are usually only seen in my zelda and sonic movies..
The characters, well indeed, the whole series are just people in real life i know put together, meaning most characters were deffintly not designed by me, in a matter of fact, Only Roger, the big nose leader, Henrik, the inventer of that robot, and the dark overlord and his nerd pal were in this episode created by me, all others are in one way of another based on someone else 's.. Jup, can't defend that.
The second and third time John fell off did have dialogue, just didn't put subtitles with it..second time he screams : i just wanted medical atentioooooooo and the third time: i hate thiiiiiii
Proportion.. plenty people complain about lack of proportions and perspective..
my lazy answer for that: It's my style? I love chibi characters, with big heads and hands to express their feelings better, and big feet to acompany that, if someone's muscled it's over the top, if someone got breasts it's over the top, if someone has a big nose it's over the top..
Backgrounds are chaos, city skycrapers are pointing all directionts, like their about to fall over any minute, nothins is perfectly square or round..
Lazy of me, that i won't spend time to do it right? perhaps..Still i love the way it looks, so I'm afraid i keep people having their desks to big, and stuff..
only to much complains about breats, it's to sexual they say..well who is sexual, the one drawing the breasts, or the ones who look at it? I draw heads and hands to big too, so.. heh
but fine, no more breasts, whatever..
More attention for detail? Like what detail? if i go give characters more detail lines and all, it starts look ugly.. in later movies they get more shading, but as for now, I'm satisfied with current looks, bland or not.
finally, me shouting that other movies here are worse is a BAD reason for me to rush of my works, but i didn't mean that argument for that reason, but more for people to be more carefull with what they say..
People like you who actualy explain in detail what i have to do are perfectly fine, people who scream: YOU SUCK YOU CAN' T DRAW whp usually have either nothing, or some stupid stickmen movie in their flash list, huwahahaa.. Won't be taken seriously..

Man. Are we stuck in a rut, or what?
Well, I don't really know what to say.
On one side, I love this. The animation's great, comedy's good as usual, and there's even a bit of action, although not all too much this time around.
On the other side...
It... doesn't seem to have the zany madcap hilarity I've come to love, and am incidentally part of.
I'm not saying it wasn't funny though, on the contrary.
The Falling Johnny running gag was brilliantly executed, the way how the Ultimate Overlord was actually a nerd was fun, and ZoDy messing around with the doctors in the Labor Room was well done, too.
But it was really clear that this episode was mainly made to introduce the new characters in, instead of simply pleasing the public.
Ahwell, I guess every series needs a "slow" episode every now and then to catch up on story issues.
They can't all be gems, can they? =P
At any rate... The voices....
...Man. They're not as horrible as Misteroo makes it seem, (and Arfenhouse is freaking funny, but sound-wise, they're no gems, either...) and I really like how actual girls are willing to do the female voicelines lately, but... well, it'd be nice if they put a bit more feeling into it. ^_^;
It's called voice ACTING for a reason.
That, and the breathing kinda bothered me, as it did everyone else.
I see Hol fixed his lines a bit though, that was a pleasant surprise.
Ahwell. All in all... I hope the next one'll turn out better, and hereby I'm calling out to all our voiceacting crew to please make it sound like you actually care about what you're saying. ^_^;
Oh, and the links on the end of the movie don't work. ;o
Well, that's about it. Good fun.

Well, tough you said you was depresive when you said this, i have no other choice then to agree with you.
The reason why the most girls sound like they don't care. is because the simple reason that, unlike you, they haven't seen the episode but just the lines in one email, which learns me, how much more convenient this is for voice actors, i have to demand them to watch the actual flash at least once..
Second, yes the episode was for storywise.. Lot's of talking, but hey, it's no Dragonball Z or Yu gi oh talking at least ^_^;;
so eh..yeah.. you know the next episode, so you know if that one got more action then this one, do ya? ^^;

a colaboration movie. haha it's a movie about newgrounds. the voices sound very weird... they sound like they are from lord of the rings.. very dramatic music too... graphics and frame by frame animating look really good. hahah this movie is awesome. the style of the characters is really good too.
