The second battleship remineds me of the Kol ship from Sins of a Solar Empire. This piece is awesome looking. All I can think of is that episode of Archer on the Skytanic and it not being flammable but him having issues not understanding it.

The inspirations were drawn heavily from Homeworld, Sins and I guess part Freespace too; I really like the more convoluted spaceship design, with angular surfaces and 'practical/functional' design elements, but with an array of light sources/indication of inner complexity.
Because of your Archer reference, instead of working, all I can think about right now is 'Jussst the tip! Jussst the tiiiip!'
