Down To Earth Review
Anything on the front page is worth trying out. Does that mean that this is a good game? Read for yourself.
You are a DJ at a local rave club. Everything's going good until the ravers get their hands on some drugs. Now everyone's gone insane! So what do you do? CROWD CONTROL! Your job is to beat everyone into submission before you're torn apart! Your weapon of choice is a cross between nunchaku and glowsticks. You've even been supplied with special moves that do extra damage. You've played hundreds of games like this so it should be a cakewalk, right? Wrong.
The first problem with this game is the weapon. You've seen someone wielding nunchaku before and they're attacks are blazing fast, right. Not going to happen! Pulling off a single swing takes about 3/4 of a second. And since all special moves require 3 moves, your special attack takes at least 2 seconds to pull off. And during that time, if you take a hit, you have to start the combo over. So your better off using basic swings, but not much better off. Your range of attack is anything directly in front of you. And if you do manage to hit someone, they aren't knocked back even the slightest bit.
The second problem is with the game itself. Every time you get hit, you take damage. Take too much damage and you lose. You can heal yourself if you pick up a first-aid kit. That is, you COULD heal yourself. There are no first-aid kits or health packs in this game. That's right! Once you take damage, that damage is permanently there. NO ES BUENO!!!
Overall, this game has a great concept, but it's poorly executed. If you're desperate for a beat-em-up game, by all means play this. Otherwise, skip it.
