I had read it a while ago, but had all but completely forgotten it. Still I'm not sure what it is meant to symbolise, if anything. Maybe an allegory of how beauty can be found anywhere? Maybe a pointer to the many pointless deaths all around us?

Maybe intentionally vague to give us room to think? In any case, Christian-Anderson has done a wonderful job of creating a thought provoking tale.

It was nicely done although maybe not as well recreated as it could be, simply because of the standard of the graphics. However, the beauty of the story remains intact and it was obviously a labour of love.

I liked your eyes very much. The gradients were used really nicely and their over-shiny nature, as if they were constantly on the brink of tears suited the film well.

However, some of the drawings were slightly lacking - specially in the opening scene. I can understand you not animating the whole scene due to time constraints, but maybe a little more time spent on the drawing would have been better. The thing that most irked me was the were the inconsistencies in head shape. Also, some of the early motions (laughing, jingling bell) should have been a bit faster imo.

The stars would have looked better more dispersed throughout the sky and being mcs running for different lengths.

I really liked the font used and the title screen with the bell and such though.

In any case it's a great story, just not as well realised as it could have been.

Good work

Unlike the other "kids" who have been complete asses (Not to mention idiots), I understand the concept of the story. It shows how such a small amount of your kindness can make a big difference in someone elses' life.

Next time I walk passed a homeless person, I will think twice.
Keep up the good work, I like your drawing style.

I remember hearing that story in school, at least ten years ago. I never forgot the last part, a part you omitted. The shooting star. Of course it was symbolic of her death, I can understand that it wasn't explained in your animation because there wasn't a narrarator. Anyway I wish you would put it in there.

Not bad

I just wanted to point out (after reading the reviews) that this story makes you want to appreciate christmas... however to appreciate christmas you got to have some girl die in the streets... nice job a$$ holes, ah well whatcha gonna do. This was a good flash, you need to work on your animation and your music but other than that it was good. you get 3 kudos for trying.

Nice attempt

I liked the story of Little match Girl. It was very touching, and though you tried very hard (i Could tell you did) You just couldn't bring it to life as well as it could have been. The music at times just seemed pointless and it all moved very slow. Too many moments with silence. Also your artwork needs improving. Overall though i liked it. Try harder for next year, and try to make an improved version. I'll wait for it. You get 3 kudos for effort.
