Nice New Song~!

[Sayonji]: Ooh! Thanks for pointing me in this direction, SinJim-sir. n_n I enjoyed listening to your new song! It's got a nice, tense feeling throughout, but I got the impression the heroes were sneaking up on something more dastardly than some enemy guardsmen. xD Sort of like they were creeping into place for a big, important rally against an enemy! But I definitely got that "going through the vents" feel. The sound effect/music you used at the very start of the song reminded me of somebody opening up the vent, and thus the mission has started! xD Best part was 1:25, of course, when we get to the strongest point of the song. n__n That was fun to listen to! Nice work, SinJim-sir~!

SinJim responds:

I started to read your story...

But I had to stop and let the music take me in its own direction. It's all in the psyche of the person listening, I suppose. I saw something a little more evil, (depending on an individual's interpretation of evil).
However that being said, it was cool...cause it did drive me to a cool place.

Nicely done man. Everything sounds like it belongs where you put it, if that makes sense.

SinJim responds:

Thanks for the review, Bad-Man. As always, a review from you is much appreciated. I hear ya on the personal interpretation. I had my own idea, but it's always really exciting to see what I can inspire in other people with my music.

It definitely makes sense, and thanks for commenting on that. I'll have to drop by to check out your latest submission when I get a chance.

Thanks again!

Sweet man

This has a really epic yet eerie feel about it. I felt like i was watching like a movie with a bank robbery scene. There was this one sound especially where it sounded like the dude was drilling through a safe hahaha. This is top notch though man. Very powerful

SinJim responds:

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it, coming from you.

Nice orchestration

I liked the variety in the orchestration and the use of percussion throughout the piece, from the more modern "hip-hop" style beat in the beginning to the more traditional percussion later in the song. I think the additional sound effects complemented the composition itself.

I absolutely think you succeeded in creating epic, energetic "trailerscore" -type modern orchestral music. My one small criticism would be that the ostinato piano that starts up around 0:42 is a bit less "epic" and a bit more "daytime soap". I think using the staccato strings as you do at 1:11 for the job is a bit more appropriate.

Overall, though, I agree with secondstamp - the quality of the piece lives up to your usual high standards.

SinJim responds:

Thanks for the review! I'm glad that you liked it!

I'll check into the piano. I'm starting to see myself hitting the limits on those samples I have, so eventually I'll be investing in professional ones.

Thanks again!
