...I'm blamming it because it's shite. You really need to have some special skill AND inspiration to make a good videogame tribute animation. The only person I've ever seen pull off one of those with any real success was Randy Solem (Shameless plug).
As it is 'Sonic the Movie' is at the bottom of the heap, along with the rest of them.
LEARN this, and commit it to memory, all of you; Using a popular character will NOT guarantee a quality movie, unless you can do something amazing with them... wait, what am I talking about? Using a popular DOES guarantee success among the NG hordes, no matter the content of the movie. Once again my quiet voice of protest will be drowned out by the cacophany of "LOL, DAT KIKED ASS BRO!!!!11".
I just hope your conscience will trouble you about pandering to the lowest of the low, basking in the praise of those whose heads closely resemble their arseholes, yet contain less matter.
